Discussion: Working Girl: On Selling Art and Selling Sex (PARTICIPATION + BOOK)

€45.00

Book of the Month: Sophia Giovannitti “Working Girl: On Selling Art and Selling Sex”

1 July, 19:00 | Location: TBA

About the book:

Inspired by the EDEN Art Festival programme, which brings Sophia Giovannitti to Riga for her performative-lecture Confession Prototype 1 on May 30, we decided to discuss the book at our monthly book club.

Working Girl: On Selling Art and Selling Sex explores the blurred boundaries between creative labor, commerce, and desire. Through sharp cultural analysis and personal reflection, the book examines how art and sex work intersect through questions of value, performance, intimacy, and power — challenging the ways society defines labor, creativity, and what it means to sell both a product and oneself.

Timing:

19:00 meet and greet

19:30—20:30 discussion

20:30—21:30 free talk (up to you)

Language:

English (we are always free and open to help with any needed translation).

Ticket:

Includes participation, a glass of wine or kombucha and snacks. Ticket refunds are possible no later than 24h before the event.

Limited capacity, 18+

If you are purchasing the book, please include your phone number and Omniva delivery details (parcel locker or delivery address).
